In November, my mom and I have a trip to Haiti planned. We are going with an organization called Mama Baby Haiti http://www.mamababyhaiti.org/. My mom will be delivering babies and I will be working with the newborns and in the orphanage with the other children. I am so excited for this opportunity. The people of Haiti have suffered tragedies that most of us can not even imagine, I know I can't. 12% of all babies die before their first birthday. One third of all children die before their fifth birthday. One in 71 women die in pregnancy or childbirth. These are the worst pregnancy and birth statistics in the western hemisphere. The program I am volunteering with has a clinic there that is in desperate need of supplies and volunteers. They are trying to change the birth rate in Haiti, one baby at a time, and I want to help them do this however I can. I would love you support and donations.
